My role now is an Access Planner, my task include planing geographical cable routes and surveying customer sites for civils and cabling requirements and also transmission, i have been involved in many projects. my responsibilites include the planning of such routes and liasing with customers
i have learnt many skills within the telecoms sector, and alot with regards to the highways and and civills works
the programme was very enjoyable and there was always an element of fun brought into it
i have always felt valued by the company and they have always treated me well as an employee, that has only changed very recently due to us being bought by Liberty Global but that has nothing to do with the Apprenticeship provided by Virgin Media
i was the first batch of apprenticeship to do the the planning apprenticeship and it needed to iron out some kinks but nothing major
the training was provided mainly in house and was very good standard
alot of suport from given by my immediate manager and his colleagues and piers
the salary given for an apprentice was very good and the salary given after was also very adeqaute
there are with other telecoms companies so you can expand your knowledge to other networks
Yes
very good to work before the liberty merger but even so there apprenticeship programmes are still excellent
Take everything with a pinch of salt and have fun and be serious at the same time
