My role involves analysing the number of people in the UK in Supported Housing / Temporary Accommodation and working with policy to meet DWP objectives. I primarily use the SAS coding language, to analyse these groups to inform ways on improving people's ability to move into work.
I have developed my skills in stakeholder engagement, delivery at pace, overall communication skills and data analytical skills primarily.
I enjoy the programme. I have been able to experience the responsibility of having a full-time job, whilst also having the opportunity to study for a degree. It has been the best option for me to progress my interest in Economics.
The structure of the programme has been effective at managing my ability to work and study for my degree. We are provided with a buddy, to ensure we are able to settle in at work and University, with meetings with Apprentice Advisors to ensure progress is maintained.
My employer provides me with the opportunity to be successful at both the work and University side of the apprenticeship. I am supported to ensure my wellbeing needs are met, whilst also providing opportunities to develop my skillset further.
My training provider has allowed me to be kept up to date following changes in the structure of the modules. I have regular meetings with my Apprentice Advisor to support my progress in achieving my qualifications.
My qualification has enabled me to develop necessary skills to perform better in my role. For example, they have provided knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and in-depth knowledge about Micro and Macro economics which have directly aided me in my role.
At work, extra-curricular activities are pushed heavily for people to get involved in. I have been able to help organise conferences, social activities and external stakeholder sessions which have been very enjoyable as a change of pace from the day-to-day workload.
Yes
It is the perfect mix for those wanting to get a Degree whilst also being able to develop their skillset in a field of interest. I have become a much more well-rounded individual, and feel this was the best choice for me.
Make sure to attempt the practice quizzes provided before the initial examinations because they provide a real example of what will be tested on. I'd also say it's important to be authentic, show your passion comes from your experiences and what you would like to achieve.
