I review 3 different departments' requisitions (transaction requests) from shoppers who wish to purchase items to help them with their medical research, once these are approved they turn into Purchase Orders, these are then sent to the supplier. We also monitor the purchase orders to ensure that they arrive on time.
I have learnt various skills such as; Microsoft Excel formulas, how to use new financial software i.e. Oracle, and gained accounting knowledge through my Apprenticeship studying AAT, and improved my communication skills when speaking to external and internal stakeholders. Learning key processes that a company uses to help itself operate.
I enjoy my programme a lot, it provides me satisfaction when completing my tasks, and provides me a challenge where I learn every day.
It is structured and organised, I have planned meetings well in advance, and my AAT course is set out for the rest of the year when I had started.
I received plenty of support from my employer.
I received a good amount of support from my training provider, and good quality of teaching too.
It has provided me with a better understanding of key terms and phrases that are used in the workplace, this has enabled me to understand my role better, and additionally, it has helped me explain complex situations to internal and external stakeholders who may not have financial knowledge.
