I work in performance marketing and support with organic SEO to optimise brand.com performance paid SEO such as google shopping ads, retail media - creating assets for amazon and health & beauty retailer brand stores, and work with our AI copywriting tool.
I have developed existing soft skills such as my communication skills, as I am able to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members, I have also developed my problem solving abilities as I have had to adress challenges and find quick solutions for some projects.
I have enjoyed the programme so far, and have had lots of opportunities to develop within the performance marketing space. However, I would like to progress further and be given more opportunities in other areas of digital marketing
The programme is well organised with lots of opportunities and support for new apprentices. However I was slightly disappointed that my cohort didnt get to rotate teams after the 18 month point, therefore I felt I have lost the opportunity to network, try new areas of digital marketing.
I receive lots of support from my employer, I have a weekly 1:1 catch up with my line manager, he is always there to support me if I face an issue in a project or I don't understand something. There are lots of upskilling workshops and opportunities
I receive support from my training provider through quarterly 1:1 catch up with development providers within the university, support groups and online support sessions. However, I feel that sometimes the feedback on assignments isn't sufficient enough
I think the content at university helps me to understand more about my day to day roles and responsibilities
I have been involved in extra-curricular teams such as the community and wellbeing team. I have organised wellbeing events such as lunch and coaster painting for the future careers community
Yes
I would recommend Unilever to a friend as you have visibility over huge brand campaigns and technological developments which are shaping different markets. Their are also lots of amazing opportunities to get involved in.
Make sure you are able to work effectively as a team, you are proactive and have the desire to learn
