As the Partnerships Manager, I am responsible for making sure everything runs smoothly and finding ways to improve our processes. My day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining communications with my colleagues and external partners (universities), managing programme approvals, updating resources/ tracker, emails, documents and databases. Additional duties also include handling invoices, payments, monthly newsletters, CRM, data reporting, marketing/website updates and hosting business events.
During this time, I've gained valuable skills such as improved teamwork and collaboration, especially across different teams. I also developed my proficiency in Excel, data reporting, and partnership management, along with honing my project management abilities. Additionally, I've enhanced several key skills, including problem-solving, project management, and interpersonal communication. Building strong relationships with stakeholders has also been an area of growth for me, which has been rewarding and integral to my development.
I really enjoyed my programme because it helped me develop critical thinking skills that I not only applied in my studies but also in my everyday work. It also improved my time management abilities and gave me a deeper understanding of business overall, which I’ve been able to incorporate into my daily tasks and responsibilities.
Pearson has provided excellent support throughout my journey. I've received plenty of encouragement from both stakeholders and my team, which has made a big difference. During times when I needed extra time to concentrate on my studies, my manager was incredibly understanding and supportive, ensuring my needs were met.
Work Pays has been incredibly supportive throughout, offering 1-1 sessions, regular email communication, and frequent check-ins to ensure everything was on track. They also provided helpful resources to assist me along the way, which made a big difference in my experience.
It brought me internal recognition, with colleagues—including the VP—offering praise for the completion of my qualification. It also gave me the chance to grow within the company, progressing from my role as Business Admin Apprentice to Partnerships Manager.
N/A - I usually work from home but I know that Pearson hold special events from time to time.

Make sure you research the company thoroughly to understand its values and culture. Highlight your willingness to learn and grow, as Pearson places emphasis on development and progression. Be confident and honest about what you're looking for in your career, and don’t shy away from showcasing your skills or achievements. Building strong relationships and demonstrating your ability to collaborate are key, as teamwork is highly valued in the company. Lastly, take advantage of the opportunities available to ask questions and learn about how Pearson can support your ambitions.
