  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I have to help both store assistants and managers complete day to day activities whilst also completing my own at a high standard with good customer service. I must show hard work, friendliness and creativity.

  • I have built up my confidence to talk to random people and also work as part of a team. You must play to everyones strengths in retail.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy waking up to have to do something. I really enjoy earning money whilst learning as it gives me a bit of income whilst I learn the ins and outs of the company.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The managers are always willing to help if I ever need it aswell as my tutor. It is all done online and is easy to access as long as I have connection to the internet.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The Aldi staff and managers are great at helping me out when I need it. If I ever need a shift change they will help me out or if am ever stuck on something then they are always willing to help.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • As it’s all done online sometimes its hard to reach my tutor. If I ever have any problems then they usually get back to me within 1 working day.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I always take things my tutor tells me into account when working on the shop floor and the even in the warehouse. All the information is there to help me so I always try to use it.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is a work night out every 3 month or so. Other than that we don't get up to much outside of work.

  • Yes

  • Great company that is always willing to help you out and listen.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
  • Be yourself. Dont try to meet a standard you dont already know. Aldi always looking for the character inside rather than a perfect robot.
