I survey residential and commercial sites to establish painting, general maintenance, repairs and refurbishment requirements. My role is to ensure accurate quotes are submitted, job costs are monitored and adequate applications/invoices are issued to the client. I generate and maintain subcontractor and supplier relationships to ensure the service provided to the client exceeds expectations.
I entered the business having never worked in construction previously, I am now able to survey works competently. I have the confidence to conduct CVRs and monitor job costs frequently. The theoretical knowledge I gain within my degree apprenticeship is supported with practical skills being obtained and developed within my role at Bell Group.
I enjoy the program thoroughly due to the ability to identify elements which align with my role. This program also provides a challenge to develop my understanding and knowledge within the working environment.
I feel that the structure of this program could be fine tuned to balance the working week with studies more proactively. It seems at times that this program may be designed for full-time students or individuals who are at the very beginning of their careers.
My employer provides the time required to attend these studies. To achieve and develop I understand the commitment and sacrifices required to excel.
I feel that the training provider is open to feedback which enables support to be provided. Although, at times there is a disconnect due to the vast number of learners on this course the provider always displays an open door policy to assisting if required.
This qualification provides the theoretical knowledge and understanding to ensure I am competent in my role. This qualification will provide the fundamental knowledge required to excel as a professional in my role and in the business.
