My role at British Airways varies day to day. The rotational placements mean I am doing something different all the time. A day to day typically involves some admin work (getting presentations ready and managing excel data sheets), volunteering opportunities or work with projects within my placement in engineering.
I have learnt organisational skills and teamwork skills and have been able to develop my public speaking and leadership skills. I have also learnt a lot regarding project management and general knowledge of the aviation operations.
I love the programme. It gives freedom and flexibility to everyone and the opportunities are truely endless
The programme is very well organised. Milestones are made super clear and we are kept up to date with any changes. The apprenticeship itself is also very well organised with set dates for modules and consistent study days
The support from the employer its immense. We have frequent 1:1s and are offered help wherever it is needed. There hasn’t been a pointbin the apprentice so far that I felt like I didn’t have support.
There is a lot of support from the training provider. If we ever need to ask questions or get help getting a 1:1 in is super easy and is always an option. There is also a lot of understanding in terms of staying up to date with coursework.
My qualification ensures I am always applying myself to the role. Making sure I apply myself and ask questions to ensure I get everything I can out of the apprenticeship. It teaches me about policies and regulations that I can refer to in real life as well as valuable skills.
Yes there are endless activities to get involved in. From a BA sports day to smaller local volunteering at schools. Events range from recognition events to internal roadshows and we are always invited/encouraged to attend!
Yes
BA have provided me with such a rich pool of opportunities there is truely something to suit everyone. There is a very clear path for development and great opportunity to move through the business.
Make sure to always be yourself! And show that you are ready to develop and grow with BA. There is a place for everyone!
