  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is within the sales department and more specifically the product tendering team. Within this team I work alongside field service, sales managers, in house procurement and third party suppliers. My job begins with receiving a technical traffic drawing which I then price from- this can include any third party equipment, consultancy hours, installation hours, equipment, controller configuration time etc. During this period I may also liase with the customer, asking any clarification questions and confirming deadlines or any other necessary information. From this both the field managers and sales managers agree a proposed margin and I transfer all relevant information into an official offer letter.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • One skill that I have majorly developed is my organisation skills- 1working towards deadlines and having sole responsibility of proposed works means time keeping is an absolute essential. I have also developed my communication skills massively- both written and verbal, this is down to communicating with an extensive list of business pillars in house as well as externally.
