On a day to day basis I have certain set task such as monitoring our admin system and making sure that we are up to date with Heath and Safety/environmental legislations. My role varies at different times. For example if we have an audit coming up, my main focus would be Health and safety however,r if I'm focusing on a project I would be working on my project management skills.
One new skill I have developed is how to prioritise my day-to-day tasks and how to build on work in order to make it even better. I have also learnt how to take ownership of my work and complete and find new task to complete without needing to be instructed to do so.
I'm really enjoying my programme as every day there is something new that comes up. I find the challenges within workplace experience (also known as facilities management) interesting and new every day. I also enjoy having experience with our services in order to understand how things work on the front line to help me with my qualification.
My programme is well structured to suit me. When I first started, I had a study day on a Friday. However, as that wasn't working well for me I have now started to study for an hour Monday-Thursday and have a half day studying on Friday. This has made my studying more effective as I tend to work better on certain task over shorter periods.
My managers have regular catchups with our training provider in order to support me with my apprenticeship. They help with topics I'm unfamiliar with as well and link my course into my day-to-day work. For example when I started my finance section of the course I then was brought into budgeting meeting and when through finance more at work to support me.
I'm currently meeting with my coach on a fortnightly basis, so I have a clear plan of action for my course.
I think my qualification does help me perform better in my role as it has given me a better understanding of Facilities management. One thing I would change about my course is to make the order of assignments more suited to me so I'm taught each section when I'm doing it at work. For example if I was working on a project at work, that would be a good time to learn about the project management section through my course instead of doing that module later.
At the moment I attend football on Tuesdays after work. I have also started to go to the gym at lunchtime to complete a HITT cardio circuit with our well-being ambassador.

Because Toyota has a high emphasis on looking after their employees. One way they do this is by providing private healthcare to employees. They try to make you the best version of yourself and give you the tools to develop your skills to support you in the future.
Look into the values that we follow at Toyota, such as the 6 C's, which we use in our day-to-day work and in our annual reviews and also Japanese keywords that we use around the business. It is also important to understand that at our office, it isn't just about cars. We also have a high emphasis on being an Eco-HQ, as it is important that we understand the importance of sustainability for the future.
