I work as an Account manager, my day-to-day role involves cold out reach to new business such as cold calling and emailing, managing my accounts and working on deals, and completing my apprenticeship coursework.
Through my time at Softcat I have learned lots of new skills and developed my skills further. The main skill which I have learnt is being able to plan and lead meetings with new customers and to co workers internally. The main skill which i've developed is my confidence with speaking with new people.
i have found the programme very enjoyable so far, there's lots of very experience people within the programme that have a loads of knowledge to share. There are also a lot of training courses through out such as in person training courses down in wyboston which are always a good change of setting.
The whole programme is very well structed, they do a very good job at explaining what the programme consists of at the start of the apprenticeship and keep you updated with next steps.
There is plenty of support both from the Softcat side and the Firebrand side. There's never been a moment where i have felt a lack of support through out my time on the programme.
Again from Firebrands side there is a lot of support with the qualifications, the instructors are always happy to help and hop on call to give advise on course work, there's reviews throughout the apprenticeship which help keep you on track with all the work including the qualification
I find the apprenticeship is very relevant to my day-to-day role, with many of the skills I have learnt through the programme such as knowledge around IT as this is a very key part of my job role.
There are more than plenty of events and activities to take part in Softcat. there are plenty of "bigger" whole company events such as kick off and many smaller office based events.
Yes
Softcat is the place to be, there's so many opportunity here with lots of room to upskill in the role you join in or moving across horizontally to new roles also considering that Softcat is in the Tech/sales industry there's going to be no lack of new life changing opportunites.
My advice to someone joining Softcat is too show of your personality and the drive to want to learn and develop through out the apprenticeship.
