My Day to day role involves creating graphic assets, videos and microsite for various clients across SAP, these are a mix of both Internal requests and client deals for the company
I have learnt new creative skills such as Microsite design and massively developed my basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Adobe After effects. My design thinking process has also become refined and I feel confident solo managing a request. Practically, my calendar management and workload planning have developed significantly. Also, working in such an innovative company has allowed me to experiment with AI softwares such as synthesia to generate speakers for videos and microsites.
The programme is very enjoyable, every week brings a new set of challenges and it really feels that apprentices get a chance to shine within both their teams and the company
While there is not a set structure, our workload is frequently assessed to ensure the work we are doing can incorporate or develop the skills we are learning from the university. One day a week is given solely for study and we have a series of scheduled check ins with different members of senior staff to ensure everything, including our wellbeing is as it should be.
My Employer goes above and beyond to provide support. Since starting this course, I have never felt unsure or lost about anything. There is always someone on hand happy to help.
My training provider provides support when asked, however the schedule for teaching and Q&As is set up in a way where we don't have any contact for a few weeks.
My qualification feeds directly into my job role, I believe they are matched up perfectly and both help to push me to be the best I can be in each department. (work and study)
There is an Employee Experience team at my work constantly pushing the boat out with opportunities to get involved in. Whether that's a sports club, women's network, or staff treats such as massages or food trucks. If something isnt an option, staff are always encouraged to pursue and start their own club!
Yes
In comparison to my other jobs, SAP makes me feel like a valued member of staff. I am constantly being given feedback to grow and everyone cares about my personal success. I genuinely believe they take care of their employees and the environment and culture they have created makes me feel motivated and inspired to be my absolute best.
From a creative role point of view, don't be afraid to take risk in your application or portfolio, Everyone loves innovation. Even if you can't execute the finished product entirely, if you have the idea and the passion. someone will see your potential.
