As MSO my daily responsibilities involve a combination of tasks that support the smooth running of the site. I work as a weighbridge clerk, managing vehicles entries and ensuring accurate load data for asphalt deliveries. I also assist in planning and dispatch, coordinating with drivers and customers to ensure timely deliveries. Part of my role includes mixing Asphalt, following specific job requirements and maintaining quality control. Additionally I operate the wheeled shovel to manage material stock piles and keep the yard organized.
Since I started this journey I developed skills in machinery operation, equipment and maintenance, and health and safety procedures. I learned how to operate the wheeled shovel efficiently, manage stockpiles, and follow production plan accurately. I am also improved y team work, communication and problem solving abilities in a fast-paced environment.
I really enjoy my apprenticeship as it allows me to gain hands-on experience in various roles, including operating machinery and managing dispatch. The variety keeps the work interesting and feel supported by my team. Its rewarding to develop real skills while contributing to daily operations in a professional environment.
My apprenticeship is well organized and structured, providing clear guidance and support throughout. I've gained practical experience in key areas like dispatch, mixing asphalt and operating machinery. Training is hands on and tailored to real site operations, making it easy to apply what i learn daily. Overall, it's a solid learning experience.
Tarmac has provided excellent support throughout my apprenticeship. My team, supervisors and trainers are always willing to share their knowledge and answer questions. I have received proper training, regular check ins and guidance to help me develop my skills. Their encouragement and structured approach have made a big difference in my progress and confidence.
I've received great support from my training provider while working towards my qualifications. They offer regular reviews, clear feedback and are always available when i need help. The learning materials are well structured, and the training managers ensure I understand each module. Their support has been key to my development and success.
The qualifications I am working towards through my training provider have helped me perform better in my role by Deeping my understanding of site operations; health and safety, and machinery handling. The theory supports the practical work I do daily, giving me more confidence and improving the quality and efficiency of my tasks
At Tarmac I've had the chance to join charity fundraising event like 10k walk for mates in mind, community volunteering days and health and wellbeing challenges. These activities help me to connect with colleagues outside my usual role, build team work and feel more involved in the company culture.
