I help manage functional costs and advise on the best financial decisions for function leads to provide the best quality possible for the company. I complete a series of reports and files each week and month to provide information for the finance team and other teams too.
I have developed my existing skills and learned how to complete my tasks to a high standard with efficiency. I have developed more effective communication skills and have been able to pursue varied opportunities to develop through my apprenticeship.
The apprentice program is the bet choice I could have made for leaving school after my last year there. It provides a depth of knowledge and higher education whilst allowing me to gain business experience and work at the same time as gaining all of that experience.
As the apprentice scheme is still fairly new for Finance at BAE in Scotland, the structure was only confirmed within the last couple years or so. The existing structure allows each apprentice to get involved with several aspects of the business from weekly/ monthly reporting within the team to working on project finance and more.
I receive as much support as needed whenever required. My manager and the wider business all provide for employees however necessary. It encourages a more collaborative approach to problems the team have and contributes to a healthier working environment within the team and surrounding areas whenever cover is needed or help needs to be given.
I receive as much support as needed whenever required. My college contact provides for apprentices however necessary. It encourages efficient working methods and high quality of work and working standards. If there are any reschedules necessary these are provided without hesitation and with no repercussions.
I feel that my college qualification aids my everyday work by giving me a deeper understanding of my place in the business and the ways in which I can continue to improve my skill levels within both my qualification and the professional environment.
