  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Currently, I study at ICAT in Barry, carrying out block learning in preparation for moving to on the job training. The block learning is a mixture of classroom work with occasional practical work in the ICAT hangar.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a large amount of new skills and improved on existing skills, practical work in the ICAT hangar helped to improve existing hand and tool skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have really enjoyed the time I have already spent on this programme, this is because I have been given the chance to learn lots of new things, meet lots of new people and be involved in some fantastic opportunities.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is well structured, we are kept relatively up to do date of whats happening and when.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Our employer supports us very well, there are many support networks in place incase they are needed. We are also made very aware of how to access said support networks.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive the necessary support required for me to work towards my qualifications.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe that the qualifications I am receiving help to better my knowledge and understanding of the role which I am required to do. This therefore increases my performance in the role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We are given plenty of opportunities to expand our networks and increase team morale.

  • Yes

  • I would recommend this apprenticeship very highly due to the incredible opportunities I have been given. This apprenticeship is also a fantastic start to a brilliant career path with endless opportunities.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Boeing?
  • Make sure to work hard but also take advantage of the fun opportunities that are given to you.
