As a Coop manager in food retail with 45 colleagues, my daily tasks include overseeing store operations, ensuring excellent customer service, managing staff schedules, monitoring inventory and stock levels, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, handling financial transactions, resolving issues, and driving sales targets while fostering a positive team environment.
My apprenticeship has sharpened my operational leadership, driving efficiency and process improvements. I’ve improved team management, including delegation, motivation, and conflict resolution. My Communication skills have grown, from clear staff briefings to persuasive stakeholder updates. These strengths have supported my ability to lead a high-performing retail team.
My apprenticeship is fulfilling, as I’m actively developing my leadership, communication, operational skills and engagement. I feel challenged but motivated to develop and grow, even on tough days.
