  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I'm currently a People Business Partner on secondment to the L&D team as a Learning & Development Business Partner. Predominantly I support the functions with their people strategy and activities to support the people strategy through it's people.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I am learning new skills and techniques through the various models and theories that I can apply to what I do day to day. Data analysis and financial acumen have really helped me develop an understanding of how things works that may have usually sat outside of HR.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The learning at your own pace and a mixture of online learning, virtual workshops, coaching 121s with your coach and peer to peer learning through feedback etc.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Its a very well organised programme, the online portal is easily accessible and easy to navigate with weekly reminders. Monthly 121 with your coach and quarterly progress review check ins with your line manager and coach on the same call have been hugely beneficial to support my ongoing development.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Very supportive, we have the autonomy to manage our own time as well as the support to make sure workloads are manageable between the business and apprenticeship.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Lots of support, always contactable and approachable as we navigate the length of the programme. We've built a great relationship which has enabled me to feel supported whilst on programme.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It's given me a broader awareness of the wider organisation and how they all fit together and where I can support to make things even better.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have lots of extra curricular activities to get involved in.... charity events, hiking, run club and we also have internal networks to get involved in such as womens network, lgbtq+ network.

  • Yes

  • It's a supportive, engaging and enabling organisation which supports the growth of it's people at all levels that fits with our get, grow and keep great people.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NHS Property Services?
  • Fully immerse yourself in the culture of learning, it will help you grow and develop to levels that you may not have thought were possible.
