Apprentice Field Technician. My role includes driving a company van to and from work area locations, my main job role is to install and service Tv, Broadband and Telephone. I will need to internally within customer's premises and externally outside the premises. It is also my job to ensure my work is done saftely and correctly by following company policies and health and safety to maintain a good company image.
I have learnt how to drive a bigger vehicle and manouvre it saftely. I have also learnt how to install and service Tv, Broadband and Telephone aswell as gain more communication skills. I have also completed my NRSWA Unit 2.
I enjoy working with colleagues and managers, the job role is more enjoyable than i expected and more straight forward. The training supplied to me is great and has taught me everything i need to know about the job. I feel confident about passing my apprenticeship and continueing my experience with the company.
I feel extremely valued, Virgin Media take good care of their employees as well as their customers. I feel safe and welcome when turning up to work. I also feel very confident as all my co-workers and managers are only a phone call away if i am uncertain about something or how to handle a situation i feel confused about.
The programme is well structured and organised, the managers are always keeping in contact and notifying me of events such as; training, studying, support and tasks that need to be completed.
I recieve as much support as I need, if there are any enquiries the work phone provided enables me to keep in constant contact with the training providers whenever I feel like i need assistance. This makes me feel more confident and enjoy working and doesn't apply stress on myself which could affect my work.
The support i recieve is the more or less the same as from my training providers, both are friendly and always willing to help and give assistance when it is needed. The attitude is always positive.
It is a great salary which meets all my costs, it also feels like i've earned it as well when pay day actually arrives.
With how the economy is at the moment, without working it was hard to do most things i enjoyed doing, which included attending my local gym and playing rugby and meeting friends at social nights out. Now working at Virgin Media there are loads of activities we can participate in, this is great because it helps team bonding.
