On a day to day basis I come into college and participate in different engineering lessons. Some lessons are in the workshop and are part of the trailblazer scheme whilst some are part of the NVQ qualification.
I have learnt many new skills, from using different machines and tools in the workshop like the milling machines and the lathes. I have also enhanced my maths ability and skills and learnt many new techniques, regulations and other interesting information.
I enjoy the programme but feel I am ready for the next stage in my development working within a work based environment at jaguar land rover. From September this will happen and I am very much looking forward to this experience.
I do feel valued as I understand the amount of time and effort that has gone into making my apprenticeship experience one of the best available. I am looking forward to the next 3 years as I know what a fantastic opportunity I have here at JLR.
I feel that the structure could have been a bit better. First few weeks I had the impression everything was in place to start our training and they start on assessment work. The assessment work was put on hold and I feel the trailblazer could have been put into place firmly before going ahead as the year has been quite hectic when trying to finish off jobs in the workshop.
I have a lot of support from the college. My tutors are always available to talk to and I can see my ITM whenever I feel the need to. I have enjoyed the support so far and long may it continue.
My employer provides my ITM which gives me lots of support, encouragement, targets and guidance. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is my ITM and so far he has been fantastic. I know that beyond [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] there are many other members of the JLR management and HR team that I could talk to or gain guidance from.
Being an apprentice the wage is never going to meet the salaries I could receive from full time employment. However, I am extremely happy with the package I receive and feel I could not be at a better place right now as there are regular pay rises and I can afford to live my life the way I would like. I am looking forward to the future with JLR.
There are many activities that I could be apart of. So far I have not offered myself to these activities as I feel I should focus on my work and get my priorities set before engaging in extra activities. However, in the future I would like to get more involved with the JLR community and be recognised within the organisation for all the right reasons.

Jaguar Land Rover is a fantastic company to work for and has given me a brilliant opportunity to not only further my education but gain skills I will use in my workplace and in the future. I have also a job I believe could be for life which is very important to me at this stage of my life.
This company will do everything to make you the best you can be, take the opportunities and you will thrive. Be prepared to work hard and reap the benefits of the brilliant apprenticeship that Jaguar Land Rover has to offer.
