Pilot Build (BIW) Prologis Review

Because this is our first year, each day comprises of either two classroom based subjects (Electronic Principles / Health & Safety for example) or a full day in one of the workshops (Hand Fitting / Turning / Milling)

I've learned an absolute boat load compared to what I new before the apprenticeship started. I can now machine complex components using a range of equipment.

I have enjoyed some aspects of the program thoroughly and the people I work with are some amazing characters, the vibe at this college/training center is what I often look forward to on a Monday morning after my weekend off.

I feel very valued as it stands. I like the systems they have put in place for behavioral reviews because it does highlight my hard work and the attitude I bring with me every day.

This first year was a brand new 'Trailblazer' framework so there have been teething problems which is expected but I wouldn't hang anyone for it, it's going to get better and better.

We have multiple, some trainers are more helpful than others, some are not helpful at all, some are very organized and feedback to us properly, some are not organized and we are left in the dark. But all in all there is more than enough support for us to excel.

The support from the company I will be working for is fantastic, they are always available to talk if you have something on your mind, personally I have brilliant support from my 'Work Based Learning Manager' and he shares wisdom on many subjects that come to light in our review sessions, very very supportive.

Salary was never one of my concerns so I can't really comment. I have sufficient wages to keep living and enjoy my personal time. The money was never what attracted me, I'm here for my career.

Yes, there have been a few events going on in the background, company specific events are scarce but I'm always putting myself forward for these opportunities. The more I can get involved, the more people will know me, the more I will learn about the business and the better it looks for me.

Because as it stands, they do recognize hard work, the do recognize the correct behaviors and they praise you for it. One thing I despise in the big world of ours is people being under appreciated, taken for granted or even being used. Jaguar Land Rover are keen and willing to support and help us as individuals on our career paths.

Be confident, think about your behaviors in your personal life and really reflect on them. If you are a hard working individual with a decent level of maturity there's no reason why Jaguar Land Rover wouldn't want to take you on. But remember there is a lot of interest in the apprenticeship scheme.
