My role on the scheme meant i spent 1 year with the Product team and 1 year with the Purchasing team. The two teams work closely on a daily basis so it was great to spend some time in both teams. In product I assisted the Pricing Analyst in reviewing and analysing the holiday prices we sell to our customers. Also assisting the product team with any pricing quries they had and worked to fix these. This role had me liaising with colleagues from all around the business including finance and trading. My roll in Purchasing as a Purchasing Assistant had me involved in the contracting of the hotels we send our customers to. This role had me dealing with suppliers and internal collegaues on a daily basis agreeing the hotel contracts.
My communication skills have definitley come on alot since joining TUI. The nature of the job means you speak with people based in different contries, working on different time zones so I would say I have definitley become alot more confident with dealing with internal and external customers. I have had extensive training on all systems we use and have been on multiple courses to understand how various areas of the buinsess work.
I thoroughly enjoyed the programme, it gave me an entrance into the business and am now a permenant Purchasing Assistant. I work with a lovely team of people and the scheme met my expectations and more.
I feel very valued by TUI. There are always internal events to reward customers and make colleagues feel valued.
My programme involved me spending 1 year in 2 departments, the structure worked very well as I was able to understand how the departments work together.
Extensive support always recieved, guidance always given.
Extensive support from Manager and colleagues. Guidance is given on any matter and always feel like there is someone to talk to if needed.
My salary for the scheme met my expectations and fairly matched my responsibilites
There are many oppurtunities to get involved with company events, clubs, teams etc. There is always something new and excitiong to get involved in.
Yes
TUI is a great place to work for, a fun environment that I would reccommend to anyone.
Stay calm and be yourself. Assessment days can be daunting for any business especially if you are new to it. The colleagues working on assessment day will make you feel at ease so don't stress and do you're best :)
