Trainee Tax Technician On a daily basis, I prepare both corporation tax returns and personal tax returns. I also prepare forms P11D. I am responsible for ensuring control lists are up-to-date to avoid deadlines being missed. I am also responsible for managing my own workload and ensuring everything is completed to a high standard and on time.
I am currently studying ATT and have learned more tax knowledge to enable me to apply to my daily work. Mazars LLP have provided me with on-going internal training on recent tax updates eg the budget and training on how to use Mazars internal systems to enhance my knowledge.
The team I work with are very helpful and are always willing to go the extra mile to help me understand what I am doing. I enjoy working at Mazars LLP and hope to have a long future within this firm.
Both my managers support me very well and always appreciate the work I do. They always try and involve me in different types of work to allow me to have a varied range of work to help with my studies.
I have a clear structured plan about my studies which contains some deadlines, when my classes are and when my exams are. The plan is easy to follow and allows me to manage my time effectively.
My mentor at BPP provides me with as much support as she can. If I need any guidance she is always there to help and gives me sufficient deadlines to work towards.
Both my managers support me tremendously and are always willing to provide me with their experiences and guidance. My managers allow me to take time off on the lead up to an exam to allow me to fully prepare. My managers help review my competency work before submission to my mentor to allow me to have feedback and make any relevant changes before final submission.
As I don't have to travel far to work, my salary meets all my costs.
The location of the office is handy to the two main train stations and many bus routes in the city centre. The company allows for community activities to happen (CSR) which allows for one day out of the office to help with charity events. The firm has a benefits package which allows for gym memberships to be bought and other forms of leisure activities.
Yes
I would recommend Mazars LLP as the support you receive is very helpful and the firm allows for a varied range of jobs to help with studies.
Not to rely on the initial online tests. Just be yourself during interviews, they want to get to know personalities to ensure the correct candidate is chosen to join their team to avoid too much disruption.
