On a daily basis, I work as part of the audit team. My role in the audit team is to complete sections of the audit pack; for example Cash or Revenue. Audit involves completing testing on numbers given to us by the client. The work varies dependent on the client I am working on.
I am a lot more confident since I have been working at Mazars, this is due to me being in situations when I have to talk to client and know exactly what I want the client to give me. I also have a lot of knowledge of general accounting knowledge from the college course that I am completing to become AAT qualified.
I really enjoy my programme, I get to work as part of a team and develop myself by gaining qualification as well as experiencing the world of work. This programme is also giving me the practical experience that is required.
I believe that Mazars values their employees. Since I have been at Mazars, I get feedback from my senior and manager on every job that I have been on. We also have a recognition scheme which allows someone to win each month.
My programme is very structured and the company prepared well for the new intake and ensured that we knew as much as we could at the start. I was given a buddy who would have been in my position last year, this enabled me to go to her for support or if I just needed general work advice.
Kaplan give us lots of support, this enables us to pass our exams and complete the study with confidence. The tutors are very helpful and friendly. They are always available to help even if this is over email.
Mazars gives us the days off for college and they offer us support if we need it. They also let us book our own exams which means we are able to make sure that we are prepared and ready to sit the exam. Our training manager is also very approachable.
The salary meets my costs well, especially seen as I live at home and my qualifications are being paid for. I think the salary is reasonable for a school leaver as they will only have a-levels and not a degree.
As a firm and an office we like to compete in social events and sporting events. We do a lot of charity events for a wide range of charities. We do events like boat races, raffles, marathons and much more.
Yes
I like Mazars and believe that they treat their employees right. I have brought one of my friends into Mazars, she is enjoying it her to.
Make sure that you come across as confident but not over confident. Make sure that you ask lots of questions and talk to other employees if possible. Make sure that you answer all questions that are given to you.
