My daily role involves assisting Managers and In-charges with day-to-day accountancy tasks.
I have built upon my people skills, due to the fact that I am based at client sites on a day-today basis and as part of my role is meeting with them daily.
Its a great programme where you can learn new skills and strive to achieve personal goals.
Grant Thornton are a great company to work for, where values are what the company is built upon.
Very well organised. I go to college 1 day a week and book my exams as and when I choose.
I receive as much support as I ask for. The tutors at Kaplan are very good, so you can drop them an email and they will get back to you within a reasonable time frame.
As this is a fairly new programme the support from my employer has been as I would have expected. This is a learning process so things will take time to get up to speed with the graduate course that is also run.
The salary package is good although this does not increase until the summer after you are qualified in AAT. I think this could be improved as other graduates who have started at the same time as me and will only be studying 6 months before I start and are on a lot more than me.
Yes there are lots of things going on outside of work, such as, Summer Ball, Balloon Festival etc. Without mentioning the host of events that the Social Committee put on for us.
Yes
Its a great company to work for with lots of opportunities, during and prior to your qualifications.
Its important to read into the companies values and culture before applying.
