My role as an audit associate is to go out to a verity of different clients with other members of the project field team to complete audit work. The hours can sometimes be long and you can end up working away a lot but the business and finance experience is great. We also get training provided for the ACA. This involves attending college for tutoring and revision.
Because of the large amount of different clients we get to work with we learn a lot about how different businesses operate. This is great experience if once your qualified and wish to move on to work in industry.
The programme itself is a great experience, but the hours can sometimes be long and work can sometimes get pressurised. But on all projects team members have always been a great support and kept spirits up.
All managers have always been thankful of work provided by team members. But you can get sent away on away jobs on short notice sometimes with managers forgetting you may have personal plans.
The programme has great introduction events, training and generally is well structured.
Enough support is available. There is an online portal with a lot of online material, there are often online live videos and your personal tutor is available to contact.
Generally everyone will check up on you when out on a project to ensure that you are understanding the work and don’t have any problems. If you end up working on a lot of away jobs with other offices then you do loose contact with your home office and this can be fairly hard.
The salary is competitive and good for somebody leaving school.
Deloitte have a lot of after work socials.
