Front of house leader- leading the front of house team by example by demonstrating great customer service, organising the shop floor, ensuring we are providing a great selection for our customers, organising the team so they are aware of their duties. Ensuring the shop floor is spotless and has a great atmosphere at all times. Generally having fun with my team.
I have learnt how to work efficiently in a very fast-paced environment in the actual working world as school is a lot different to this.
I enjoy the work as each day is quite different though some tasks such as restocking drinks can be tedious at times. The programme has been very enjoyable as help and support was always available with out without requesting it. the teams are an absolute pleasure to work with as they are very diverse and there is a lot that can be learnt from them.
The structure has improved dramatically from when it began. It is very well structured, from the beginning there is a yearly calendar of all the courses and dates provided to all school leavers.
The training providers have been great, taking us through the programme every step of the way. They regularly visited the shops to how I was getting on and the hear from the managers and team how everything is going in regards to me.
My GM has been very supportive throughout my journey as a School Leaver, even if its a little chat to see how I'm getting on, she was always there. She also encouraged my growth in the company making me believe I can achieve absolutely anything.
living in London isn't cheap but as I am living with my parents and I earn very good money with Pret, I have been able to save a lot despite the costs I have to pay for living, socialising and traveling.
As the rota is quite flexible, there are opportunities to take part in other activities outside of work. For example, I like to do art work in my spare time. Also Pret organises events outside of work to reward the staff such as Friday night drinks and star team awards.
Yes
It is a great company to work for. You have a lot of support and a lot of people who believe in you and want to see you succeed.
In the beginning it's difficult to get up very early in the morning but you do get used to it and the positive side is you finish your shift very early in the day so you can relax and do other things outside of work. Also don't be afraid to ask questions as someone will always be there to help you.
