I work for as a consultant in the IBM Third Level Application Support Team, investigating and developing 'Production' fixes for incidents and problems.
During my time at IBM I have completed a TRIRIGA training course which lasted three weeks and occurred in Las Vegas. I have also developed personal presentation skills.
I very much enjoy working for IBM, I feel that they have very good company values and treat each and every employee with the respect they deserve. Jobs have no age relation to them and therefore are completed performance based which is fantastic.
I regularly receive appreciation from my team leader for my efforts within our Third Level Application Support Team.
The programme has a good structure and balance between client work and foundation education ensuring that neither affects the other. There are plenty of mentors within the company for professional development.
I regularly receive support from my ]training provider on client site and they're always there to ensure that I can produce results of the highest quality.
IBM have a fantastic HR team who are easy to access for information and my manager is always there if I have problems whilst on client site or if I have personal issues.
The salary from IBM is extremely good given that I had no professional experience in IT. Where I am working a non-commutable distance from my base locations I am also subsidized for my living accommodation and food costs.
There are always events within IBM that are distributed through email to each and every employee ensuring maximum coverage.
Yes
I feel that IBM helps early professionals to develop their career and progress into business as an experienced consultant.
When going for your assessment day, ensure that you bring your personality along as people that pretend to be something they're not are often discovered as such.
