As part of my role I have been given the responsibility off drafting minutes, a Fund profile and a commentary on the current situation of the Fund. I have also used portfolio statistics to create tables based on the position of the fund. Moreover, I have attended various meetings.
Both. I have has the opportunity to develop new skill such as drafting reports for the Fund (something which I had not done previously) and I have also learnt how to use and derive information from the portfolio statistics frequently used by the team. I would say I have utilized my communication and organisation skills during this week.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my work experience. It has been an opportunity for me to explore the way the team operates and has helped me to reinsure that this is the career path in which I would like to take.
I feel extremely valued within my team (even during a short period of time). My team has been helpful and approachable which has enabled me to gain the most out of my work experience.
My team has organised work for me to complete which will help them with their reports and help me to have an understanding of the different documents they create. I have been issued resources to read and copied into their emails which has given me a brief update on the current situation of the Fund.
My team has been very helpful and I feel that any queries I have had this week have been answered in depth so I have the understanding I need.
During my work experience I have gained plenty of support from the people in my team. This has helped me understand what my team expect me to achieve, why I am completing certain tasks and how they will be used. In all this has helped me feel comfortable within the team.
As I was working within the business for a week I did not receive a salary or package. However, M&G reimbursed my travel costs and provided me with a subsidised canteen.
There are many social activities that happen outside of work for example movie nights and sporting activities. Lunches are frequently arranged which is a great way to network with employees inside the business.
