Each day I swapped seat, visiting a different department and learning about the different sections that made up the law firm as a whole. I was shadowing a paralegal or a trainee solicitor each day.
I have developed my research and analytical skills, as well as learning new things about the law and the legal practice. I also understand more how an office and a firm work overall too.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the programme, it has been a worthwhile week and has really given me an insight into how a corporate law firm works, as well as how each member of staff contributes to the firm overall.
The work experience was organised very well and each team member introduced themselves to me, with all members of staff being very kind and understanding, as well as involving me in their tasks.
The programme was organised very well, with presentations 4 days out of the 5, and the joining of the practice groups being efficient as a whole.
Every trainee and Pinsent Masons as a whole have offered support and advice at every stage of the work experience. I have been able to ask questions and seek more advice very easily.
Pinsent Masons, and its staff have been very supportive throughout the process, offering me further lines of communication once the week has been over for any future questions I may have regarding the law and the sector.
The travel expenses, getting the train and the tube were fairly expensive, as well as buying lunch each day, apart from the first, were not covered by the firm. I felt that some sort of grant could've been offered.
There are many opportunities that Pinsent Masons is involved in, including local community projects and voluntary initiatives such as Primary School reading which have been drawn to my attention throughout my week here.
Yes
I would recommend Pinsent Masons to a friend purely because I have found it to be an eye-opening experience, as well as a very interesting and busy week, which has really helped me on deciding what sort of job I would like to do in the future.
I would suggest that they would take the application process seriously, it is a worthwhile experience. There are no interviews, so presenting yourself in the best light in the application process online is crucial.
