I am currently on a project, in which my role is referred to as IT analysis. It is my duty to ensure that our off-shore team is completing the work they have been given by the client/myself, to ensure that I can produce a daily report and manage the team. The report is sent to the whole team, and will be revised by senior management.
I have gained confidence since joining the project, through client meetings (daily) as well as daily calls with the client and off-shore team. I have also gained knowledge in project management, as in a way I am currently managing a small project. Lastly since joining this new project, I have been able to become aware of specific planning tools and software to aid my role.
I could not ask for a better programme, as Capgemini have taken apprenticeships to a innovative level. They not only provide exceptional training on top of manageable work. They know exactly which sectors and clients would benefit from our current skills and knowledge, as they know through careful reviews and staff analysis that the roles are chosen to best suit the apprentices.
I feel highly valued by Capgemini, as I feel they take into consideration the effort we are putting both in our client based work and our QA coursework etc. With this in mind, this is the main reason as to why I chose Capgemini, as they can approach the apprentices in a developing manor without any hassle. I am therefore highly motivated in my work and coursework, due to the fact I know Capgemini are there to support my needs.
Our programme is well structured in terms of the time for development and progression with work and the apprenticeship. I feel as though there is a reasonable and balanced amount of work that I have to deal with, and it is not affecting my self or social life in any form.
I feel as though I can ask the training provider any question related to my personal/career development and be able to get a quick and effective answer.
I receive as much support as I require, whilst under the employment of Capgemini.
The salary package is average, and for me I am on a comfortable salary considering my level. I do believe there should be London Weighting added for those who are living in London, after knowing that most of the projects in my department are London based.
I feel as though outside of work, there are many opportunities for the apprentices to get involved in that is not necessarily about work. Instead the activities bring together, employees all over the company to allow better communication and improve generally as a team etc.
Yes
They offer one of the best opportunities for young individuals who are not attracted to university. You will gain both a degree, level 4 diploma and 5 years experience. What more could you ask for?
Be yourself, research the company, put your all into getting this apprenticeship.
