During the week I was helping out on real live client work in the Assurance line of service. I was given great responsibility by PwC on helping my buddy out on numerous tasks.
I have improved my skills in using the Excel software as well as improving my communication and networking skills. Also the final day provided a great opportunity to work on teamwork with others on the programme.
I really liked how comfortable the firm made me felt and how well organised the programme was. I also enjoyed doing the work I was given by my buddy. I would have liked to try out another line of service such as Consultancy however as the office I was placed in was fairly small this may not have been possible.
This was one of the best things about the week. I was not treated like a student but more a valuable employee of the firm. Working on live client work and visiting a client site really helped with this.
It was extremely well organised and I was kept informed about every detail of the week. It was also nice to travel to 3 different PwC offices over the course of 5 days which helped broaden my view of the firm. The team also put on conference calls everyday that helped improve/harness skills that are valued greatly by PwC.
I was assigned a buddy who was very helpful and I always felt like I could approach him to ask about anything if I was unsure. The atmosphere was a very positive one and I was never abandoned or looked down upon as a mere work experience student.

The fact I got paid for this was an added bonus to be honest but covered all the necessary costs that I incurred.
Although I was only at PwC for 1 week, I along with some other students in my office, were taken out for lunch on all the days. Also it seemed as though there were many activities and events outside of the office many of which involved charitable events which is really good as it felt like the firm was truly trying to give back to the community.
Yes
This experience was invaluable for me and I can truly say that all the aspects of the week were enjoyable. Although it can be nervous going into a new environment the kindness and patience of all who I encountered at PwC made it a breeze. Also the firm itself is a great one and truly looked after me on my week with them.
Just be yourself and answer every question honestly as if you have a drive to succeed then you will in my view. Also for the online psychometric tests I would say make sure you practice as much as you can before you sit them. Best of luck !
