Work experience within accountancy. shadowing colleagues and working on and with clients, tasks including processing, BACS returns and reconciling with banks
I have learnt how to use programmes such as sage and learnt what it is like to be an accountant on a daily basis.
I thoroughly enjoyed working with my team as they were all very welcoming and willing to help. This allowed me to experience accountancy first hand.
I feel very valued by BDO as the programme has been structured really well, allowing me to gain an excellent experience in accountancy. My colleagues were always helpful, when I was completing a task.
The programme is very well structured and organised which allowed me to gain full access to accountancy.
I received a lot of support when applying to this programme, once I had been expected and throughout my time here. There was always someone to talk to if ever I needed any help.
I received a lot of support from my employer as they were always checking if I knew what I was doing and would help if I was ever unsure.
As my travel expenses have been covered by BDO the salaries were an added bonus, therefore meeting my costs.
From my understanding BDO have sports teams which employees are able to participate in outside of work.
Yes
I would recommend BDO to a friend as they are a company which puts a lot of time and effort into employees and clients, giving it a friendly atmosphere. Also the programme enabled me to get a real feel for accountancy.
I would advise them to not be too nervous for the interview as it is a two way interview, which encourages you to ask questions, meaning you can find out as much from the company as they want to find out from you.
