Helping maintain infrastructure and network environments for clients. Working mainly via Linux Command line and also maintatining server and network hardware, often located within a data centre.
More detailed knowledge on networks, particually sub-nets. Also the use of command line and a better understanding of code. Applying knowledge about computer systems and hardware and applying that to building servers etc.
Only been here a few months, but the potential for learning is very great. Comfortable work conditions, very relaxed working hours (flexi-hours). The company itself seems very reasonable and the opportunites within it are very good.
Only been here a short time, but given responsibilities quickly and gradually being given more and more roles which make me feel valued.
Pretty structured. Working as a regular employee normal most of the time, but sent off for week long courses and expected to put in some of my own time to complete the course.
I have the use of the college resources if needed, but everything I need can be found within the employeer.
As much as is needed. I have a manager and a mentor and also other apprentices in my team to help me. They all seem very open and understanding of abilities.
More than substantial. Located very close to my home so commuting costs are low. The salary covers all my expenses and allows me to save also.
Lots of oppourtunities for social activities and sports. Very large apprentice community; and lots of social events are arranged within them. Lots of opportunities to use the IBM brand for discounts such as cheaper gym memberships adn shopping discounts. Multiple voluntary programs are availible and you are encouraged to do this and often given time off work to complete them.
