During the insight week my role was to mainly be in the Corporate Tax service line although I did do a bit of work in Public Assurance. During the week I was gaining an insight into how different teams work together and also was shadowing a very helpful person in the company who taught me a lot of different skills. Overall the week was a wonderful experience and I would recommend it to anyone.
I have picked up many vital skills. For example; interview technique, confidence, networking and the importance of making a good impression. The week has been amazing and has taught me how to adapt to being inside a business environment.
I enjoyed how the programme was laid out. Every day we had different things planned for us which was a fun experience and it made our week really good.
Very valued and I am very happy they have me this wonderful opportunity. My team made me feel very comfortable and I wasn't nervous going into each day after the induction. Even getting my own card to swipe in/out the building was good as it made me feel like an employee.
Very organised and involved many things, even the induction was so organised and what I expected to be a long day discussing rules and policies, was instead a very interactive day which made the day so much more enjoyable.
I received a lot of support especially when I was confused with certain things he was able to advise me upon how to do different things while he was doing his own work. As a training provider he was overall very helpful.
The manager in CCS was very helpful as he gave me some insight into what he does and also helped me when I was stuck on a few things. Also the people from Student Recruitment were very nice on the induction and helped us to understand what is in store for us in the week.
Everything was perfect and getting paid for my week was a bonus as I would've done it even without it being paid work experience. Everything was fine like travel costs as I wasn't to far from the office.
From my week I did see events and different social activities within teams which seems like a fun experience. I didn't have much time to participate in these as I was only there for a week.
Yes
It is a really good company and has so many different service lines that one will tailor to what you would like. The company also has that big corporate feel that people would like to be in.
To be as confident as possible in the interview and make sure you are prepared to answer a range of questions. Also try and do as many practice psychometric tests as possible to prepare for the proper ones.
