I was in the Markets line of business where I was on the Chemical Equity Research team. My task was to compare the reports of two companies and see the similarities and differences between the data. The reports were on the capacities of two different chemicals, TDI and MDI. I was also given a quiz with 100 questions to research and complete.
My networking and interpersonal skills have definitely improved and I feel more confident.
I had the most amazing time and learned so much. I met wonderful people and made great friends. Overall, the whole experience was unforgettable and I would definitely do it again.
I felt very valued by J.P. Morgan. They seemed to address us as adults or actual interns instead of just school kids and it was nice to be welcomed and respected.
The programme was very well organised. Although it was only two weeks, we managed to do a lot and I feel like I definitely got to make the most of my time there. Each day was jam-packed with interesting, valuable activities which enabled me to learn as much as I could.
A lot of support. If I needed help or advice, it would be there for me.
My mentor was usually very busy so she did not have much time to help me which was understandable and there were many friendly people who would be happy to help so I felt like I had a lot of support if I needed it.
This was not a paid internship and accommodation was paid for by SMF. Also, food was usually provided.
Yes. There were any events such as the networking reception which was a wonderful opportunity that I would not have been able to get otherwise.
Yes
It's an amazing experience unlike any other. J.P. Morgan is an exceptional company which is great at what it does and has very unique culture which differs from other banks. At J.P. Morgan, you are respected and trusted even though you are only an intern and they get you to do actual work which allows you to learn and meet wonderful people.
Make the most out of every opportunity you get by talking to new people and asking different questions.
