As a Business Insight Week student I shadowed auditors and was lucky enough to go to a Client site to carry out some auditing work with my buddy.
I learnt how to engage with clients and also what auditing involves on a day-to-day basis.
I really enjoyed the programme because everyone I met was extremely approachable and they were all keen to help me progress. I enjoyed it a lot as it was not at all boring and there were so may things to learn.
I feel very valued by PwC as everyone treated me with the same respect even though I was just a student who had no knowledge of auditing before. I was trusted to audit some bank reconciliations which helped boost my confidence.
The programme was very well structured and the induction day was well planned with several booklets prepared to help us if we were unsure of anything throughout our week at PwC. The student recruitment team were very open and friendly and offered their support via email if needed.
My training advisor was very friendly and approachable and was always extremely helpful when explaining difficult principles I didn't understand the first time. He made sure I understood everything before he moved on and didn't make me feel weak at any point.
I received a lot of support from PwC as everyone was very friendly at reception.
The added bonus of paid work experience was definitely a substantial benefit and was very generous considering most work experiences are unpaid.
We went out for lunch twice in one week and it was a great chance to meet with my Buddy's friends and network with them.
