My role during the start of the week was to familiarize myself with the operations within the Global Corporate Bank, attend team meetings and create research reports for different companies. By the end of the week my role was focused more on using annual reports of different companies and central banks to put together presentations and identify future business opportunities.
Having developed my existing skills such as presentation skills, teamwork, research etc., I also found myself broadening my corporate and accounting knowledge throughout the past week. The responsibilities I was assigned meant that my business acumen and foundations in accounting principles had to be tested and improved in order for me to carry them out.
The programme was extremely enjoyable, this I mean in terms of both the challenging and rewarding work, the amazing team of mentors I had and the atmosphere and culture throughout the company. Having been at J.P.Morgan already last year, my high expectations were not only met but surpassed this year.
During lunch with an M.D on my floor, our conversation made me realize the extent to which my relationship with J.P.Morgan was valued by the firm, which from day one was apparent to myself and my colleagues through the wonderful arrangements they arranged for our stay. Both my mentors and colleagues within the floor ensured I was always involved in projects and their feedback once I was finished once again definitely made me feel a valuable member of the firm.
The structure of the programme I felt was very organised and succinct especially considering that the programme was only one week. From the introduction and training at the start to the wrap up session on the last day, I felt the structure of the programme was well kept.

To work in J.P.Morgan would mean you would be both challenged and developed as an individual while being a valuable member of the firm.
