I am responsible for maintaining and calibrating UKAS acredited equipment. This involves taking equipment on various sits across the UK to do emissions testing.
Yes I have learnt lots of new skills during my apprenticeship most of which are vital to my day to day job. I also learnt many skills which I use outside of work.
The course was very enjoyable, as well as all the skills I learnt I made some good friends and at the end of the apprenticeship I was fortunate to get a job which I enjoy doing and pays well.
I feel very valued at eon, as an employee my thoughts and ideas are appreciated and taken in to consideration. We also have a very good employee benefit scheme.
The apprenticeship scheme at eon was very well planned we have courses as well as on the job training. This enabled us to learn as well as see and experience various different roles within eon.
During my apprenticeship we often had review sessions where they would ask us if we had any concerns with how the apprenticeship was going this was beneficial for us to be able to voice our oppinions.
Because my employer was the same company that provided the training it meant that it was very smooth and whenever we needed extra time for training it was provided by my employer and visa versa.
Again as the apprenticeship was run by my employer this was all taken care of. However initially I had to take a pay cut when I joined the scheme however after finishing the apprenticeship my salary it much higher.
Yes I believe there would be, during my apprenticship I learnt lots of skills that are transferable to other industries. I can now also put on my CV that I have worked at a large company and completed a apprenticeship.
Yes
After completing my apprenticeship program I was employed by eon and I now have a job I enjoy. I am also now able to further develope myself and take advantage of the many training opportunities.
I found it was very important to have a good understanding of power generation and look at new technologies. Also good understanding of safety within the workplace is must.
