My job role involves cost assurance, which is the analysis of the charges Sky get from Openreach on a monthly basis for broadband and telephone provision and assurance. My team looks into all the different Charges Sky receive and make sure that we have been billed accurately from Openreach and make sure they don't over charge us.
I have learnt how to use SQL, a database system which I am going on a course for to develop my skills of coding which the database uses. I have learnt the business practices when it comes to writing on email, reporting and presenting and what is expected of me.
I enjoy my programme a lot as my team are very helpful and chatty and they answer any questions I may have. I feel comfortable and as though I can raise any concerns that I have with my manager and know they will be acted upon. It exceeded my expectations and is truly an enjoyable place to work.
I feel extremely valued by Sky and feel like there is recognition for all the good things by both my manager and senior members of staff. I feel involved as an apprentice and feel as though I am given a good amount of responsibility within the team.
my programme is very structured with regular visits from my assessor who is available to contact via email any questions I may have which she responds to very quickly. I am kept on board with what is happening around the company as well as things relevant to my role. I have been delegated a number of analysis tasks as part of my monthly objective which I am currently working towards which makes me feel like I contribute a great deal to the success of my department. I have also been given a great deal of study time with my manager making sure that I'm not struggling and any resources I need are made available for me to use.
I receive a lot of support from Outsource training with regular workshops to help me develop my skills and giving me extra information I need to take my coursework to a high level
My employer also gives me a lot of support by making sure I'm kept in the loop of what's going on around Sky and making sure I have enough study time and also extra workshops from the Sky academy team to develop the skills I need for a business environment.
my salary is more than enough to cover my costs of travel to and from work every day, with the involvement of the car share scheme which enables me to cut down travel costs as well as social costs which i feel I have a lot of money spare to spend on my own luxury which is always a good thing.
there are many volunteering opportunities and chances to get involved with local communities and emails are always going around about ways to get involved as it's something Sky as a whole prides itself upon. There is also a Sky gym which motivates us on well-being and the chance to speak to and use free personal trainers to help with fitness and body development which is amazing!
Yes
Sky is the best place I have worked, the environment is wonderful, it makes me feel wanted and as if I contribute a great deal to the success of the company as a whole as part of a smaller team. There are fantastic benefits to help you inside of work as well as out which creates a lot of motivation and makes me happy to come to work every day.
I would suggest to show how you feel about working at Sky. If there's excitement within you, show it! People love to know you are excited to work at Sky and show that you like to interact with people and work well as a team and that you are keen to develop your skills and take opportunities because there are so many at Sky!
