  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned a huge variety of skills ranging from financial and accounting skills to handling confidential material properly. I have become a better person as I've never worked in a company like IBM, by this I mean my communication skills, my presentation skills and general professionalism - they really are excellent with bringing you up properly from an apprentice that knows very minimal!

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I absolutely love my job. I'm not just writing that I really do, coming in on a Monday morning does not bother me at all and I actually look forward to heading into the office on my way to work. The 'Foundation Community' are a very friendly and warming group who help endlessly with any problem and query you have. Excellent training programmes and very impressive infrastructure.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by IBM?
  • I feel very valued. Many other companies throw their apprentices into the not so enjoyable jobs and are treated with limited respect, the scene here is very different. You are treated like you have been at the company for 20 years by everyone! Furthermore you are thrown into roles that very experienced people are placed in, which makes you feel very important and valued.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very organized - everything put forward is very clear and they give you very good guidelines as to what to expect from you. A huge network to help you with every step of the way.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from IBM. My project manager tries hard to spend time with me in order to bring me up and train me up effectively. If he is not around - alot of people in my office are very happy to help which makes me feel at home and comfortable in the work place.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes a lot of people to meet and work with. There is a huge community at IBM outside of work for social activities including sports, meals out or a general social. A lot of activities in order to go and speak to students or help out with events run by IBM which are great fun and help build your reputation.
