I am a Software Engineer apprentice, my daily tasks intale of Testing and installing new builds and ensuring that the mission Planning software is work efficiently
I have become a self proclaimed expert in installing certain software.. I have learnt a variety of ways of getting certain tasks done and how to finish them off properly.
I enjoy being involved in a team, I greatly enjoy the things i'm doing and the people i work with are really nice and are willing to give you a helping hand if you require them to.
I feel quite vauled as, i get trusted to complete certain tasks and the trust my word on things and i get trusted to followthrough on the certain tasks and finish them properly
The induction was very well structed but not too stressful, I kind of got introduce into the programme at a steady pase and people were there supporting me, every step of the way.
I have biweekly meetings with my college tutor, we go through work, college work and any worries or any issues with have with the course itself.
i catch up with my manager from time to time but if i needed anything i could turn to him for support or anyone for that matter, everyone is friendly and willing to help.
The salary is amazing, it more than meets my costs, I live about 20 miles from work so theres a little cost for that twice a day and then theres my rent..
Theres always extra things going on outside work, like football clubs, apprentice bowling, apprentice dinners or nights out.. Theres also a great team building week where you go up to lake district and do loads of fun team building type things that i get to experice next year
Yes
The people are great, the work it fun and interesting, you get treated like an equal... and theres a costa pod downstairs. You will never be bored and you get a qualification at the end of it
Be yourself, be confident, research what the company does and have an idea what you want out the end of it and how you can help the company and don't panic
