Business developer apprentice Review

My day-to-day job roles include many things, mainly filing paperwork. As a big depot that has a lot of customers everyday, I have gravitated into making sure that correct paperwork is up to date such as making sure the daily transaction report is correct and filing the paper work numerically in invoice number so it is easy to find and filing the files away numerically in date number so again, it is easier to find if needed. When I am not filing I will most probably be serving on the counter, I enjoy interacting with the customers and helping them with all their needs.

This experience has gave me many skills such as knowledge on this type of sector (Kitchen & Joinery), Confidence with customers and many more but overall I think that this experience has matured me more than anything and has given me a good inside layout on what future work life would be like.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this experience, there are customers and colleagues here that I will never be able to forget.

If I got to be honest, as an apprentice I know that I will never be a big contribution to the team but I think that they'd notice the little things I do if I wasn't here.

It's hard to say really, I wasn't really given any training at the beginning I was just shadowing a lot of staff members at the beginning, it was really boring but when I was put onto the counter, It was easy to pick up the techniques my colleagues did when I was shadowing the,.

To be honest, I hardly ever get support from my employer. If I have an issue I'll try and fix it myself but otherwise I'll ask one of the lads on the counter.

This is difficult to answer because being financially well with my family and being only 17, having that "£575" is nice to have in my back pocket but its harsh because I do the equal amount of hours every one else does and majority of the time I'm doing the same amount of work and they're earning a vast amount more than me + bonus.

I work voluntary for my parents just so they can have a break once every week and I train for an play rugby, also I play football so im always active.

At the start of my apprenticeship I imagined it was going to be different because I thought I'd be ringing customers everyday and doing everything that I was ensured at my interview , don't get me wrong its worked out perfect but it might be the wrong step for someone else so that's why I wouldn't recommend it.

Make sure you're making the right choice, and talk to a careers advisor, your family or your current place of education first before making this step because there are times where it gets stressful which many people my age wouldn't be able to handle and it just might be the wrong move for you.
