My role is titled Electrical Maintenance Apprentice. When I come in to work I shadow an Electrical engineer and see what the job is all about. over time we get trusted to get involved which depends on if we have learned or not.
As the Apprenticeship goes on you pick up how to do the job and with working with different people you pick up different ways of doing the job. with this you can then do the job in the most efficient way.
I enjoy working on jobs with engineers that let you get involved. when you have a job planned in and its just you and the engineer working to get the job done and to the best quality.
I feel like an engineer that can give some value to the team. As I am working with people and there getting to know me and trust me, I feel less of a waste of space, watching someone do everything.
Then program is very well structured. I know where I am week by week and I also know who I am working with.
Now I have started full time with my company I dont see much of my training provider as I have day release for college who i get as much support off as I need.
I get give all the support i need from my company. If I have any problems with my work or my college I can get something sorted before i fall behind. If I have a problem with the work itself i can ask anyone and they will do their best to answer it and if they can't then they point me to someone who does.
the company pays very well which allows me to get what I want and pay for my bills with no problems. it also allows me to pay for a decent car and run it.
I get the opotunities to go and see places as the company doesnt go short on pay.
