I work within the retail supply function at Boots. My first role was in the Imports team, getting stock into the country by declaring it to HMRC and ensuring we were paying to right duty. This role also involved reporting goods to and form the Republic of Ireland. My second role is in Premium Cosmetics. This ensures the right stock is in the right store at the right time.
I have had the oppurtunity to attend communication, feedback and negotiation training. I also feel my confidence has grown from the trust and responibility I have been given.
I feel so proud to be a Boots apprentice. The trust and responibility I have been given has shocked me as I feel I have been treated like any other employee. I also feel so lucky to be able to get the oppurtunity to attend so many developmental workshops.
I feel being on the apprenticeship programme gives yu recognition in itself. From all the recruitment events I have attend to help advertise the apprenticeship programme I have gained recognition. A large amount of people outside of work also ask about the programme to try and get themselves on it.
All developmental oppurtunites were given to us at the beginning of the programme from Ican@boots. We also have monthly review session with the apprenticeship co-ordinator.
As monthly review sessions are held, we are able to receive support there. I also have weekly one to ones with my line manager. The college tutor is also on the end of the phone or email to help too.
We have weekly one to one's to check in and talk about any issues.
At 19, the salary I earn is more than I ever expected to be on.
You can get involved with charity events, the gym at Boots and extra activities such as Badminton.
