Working with the design team for onshore substations. Completing drawings and calculations to work out how to plan and fit to customer needs.
Managing work loads and CAD along with 3D design. Working closely with the team I have been able to put to practice what i learnt into documents received by customers and contractors.
I would sometimes like to be a bit more practical to tie in knowledge learnt at a desk. If this was possible then it would help give my knowledge more depth and understanding.
I feel quite highly regarded as they formally presented us our certificates in front of the whole of the company. They also have spent a lot of money on our education as a whole.
At first as we were the 'guinea pigs' the programme wasn't run very well but as the years progressed and the company listening to our needs they have worked with us to help create a better opportunity within the company.
I never had to contact my training provider as there was always guidance in the company and our overall mentor who would contact the providers for us, letting us know how or what we need to do.
Support comes in abundance there is never a moment when you feel alone. This type of support is very helpful when trying to undergo tasks that you might find challenging.
At the beginning the salary was quite low but has seen a good rise as we progressed.
