My job title is a signalling design engineer, this involves using CAD and other software packages to create electrical design circuits. Most days this involves looking up standards and making sure I do my design work correctly.
I have learned lots of new skills and gained a lot of qualifications. I have been to college and finished my HNC and now doing my HND and hoping to progress to degree level. I have been on BST, PTS, MOD 5, CDM and lots of other very beneficial courses.
I really enjoy the programme. It has lots of oppurunities to work away on jobs in England and wales. I enjoy learning new skills and working as part of a team within the company.
I feel very valued with Siemens. I feel I am important and do a good job. I get lots of praise and ended up with a bonus this year.
my apprenticeship scheme is very well structured. I am on track to completing all my courses on time. I have complete most course by now and a working hard to get my IRSE license and my NVQ level 3.
I receive a lot of support through my training provider. there is always opportunities to go on more course and improve my skills. we always do surveys and questionnaires at the end of each course to give feed back.
My employer always encourages me to do my best and asks how I am getting on in my daily job. they always want to know if there is a problem and they have a good attitude towards employees.
My salary meets my costs well. I can travel to work and live very comfortable month to month. I feel for an apprentice my wage is very good.
There is lots of opportunities outside of work. there is a football team every Friday. I have friends to go for drinks after work with. overall I feel Siemens is a very sociable company.
Yes
I would recommend Siemens to a friend because there is lots of opportunities within the company to help progress your career. it is also a very good company to work for in terms of benefits.
the advice I would give to someone applying to Siemens is be yourself. I think this is important as an employer wants to get to know you and if they like you, you might be offered the job.
