Stores Finance support analyst. To report on and analyse data in Boots Stores. Internally Interact with my team and Management Information, and sometimes with other finance teams. Externally there are reports to be sent out to people and sometimes have to contact people in Stores if there are queries.Do different things every day depending on what needs to be done and importance.
Working towards gaining my business management NVQ level 4, have also learnt new excel skills as hadn't used it before working at Boots. I have learnt to manage my time a lot better since working at Boots
Very enjoyable, i enjoy being challenged which my team and manager does with work which helps me gain confidence. My team and manager are very supportive and helpful, and are always there if i have a question. The company culture is lovely as it is very relaxed and you feel valued to be part of the team.
Manager and team are very appreciative of all the work i have done for them and are always willing to show me how i can improve and better myself. My team always try and involve me in the projects that are occuring, and even if i am not involved i will know what is happening.
There are quite a few induction days to talk you through the programme slowly and to ensure that it's what people really want to do and that noone has changed their minds. Training sessions are avaliable to everybody and are very easy to book on to if you want to learn something new but are given training for excel and outlook automatically. I have support meetings every week with my manager and quarterly catchups with tutor. My manager and my buddy both give me tast to do and if others need help withing the team i will do so.
My tutor is lovely and always willing to help, we are welcome to talk to her in lessons and out of lessons via email if we have any queries and she always tries to respond quickly. i know that if i cannot get in touch with my tutor i can go to other people who run the apprenticeship scheme with my questions. Very enjoyable.
My employer is very supportive and so is my team and Buddy and i feel like i can talk to them about any problem i have. They are very helpful with problems and try to help- if they do not know the answer they will try to find the answer from someone else. Very supportive- have one to one catchups with my manager each week to see how i am progressing and also with my managers manager each month.
Very well- The apprenticeship scheme at Boots has a very generous salary and i am currently living at home so very low living costs (just saving) travel costs isn't excessive as Boots HQ isn't too far away from home (45 mins) Daily and social cost am perfectly able to manage on.
There are quite a few company activities (fundraising, lunches with the team, etc).Boots is very positive about fundraising for charities so is very easy for people to do that within the business. There is a gym which many people go to- at a low cost. When i wasn't working i was an Dance Teacher assistant and am still able to do that whilst working.
Yes
Very trusting company to work for, and the Boots slogan 'lets feel good' really does apply to colleagues as well. People are always positive and relaxed, and everyone is so supportive and helpful when you first join and throughout your time there. The company really looks after it's staff.
Ensure that you read everything the company gives you about application thoroughly as there is always information that you can use in there about the process. Be polite and friendly, and be truthful! If you're passionate about something and want to do it as a job it will show. For assesment days you should be prepared and give it your all- don't underestimate others. I would have liked to have been told the above- and to have been told that it's ok to be nervous- and just to try and relax, if you're nervous people will notice.
