My role and day-to-day activities vary so much with Accenture. I can be coding and aiding app development with one Client and then configuring business integration systems with another.
Yes, I have learnt Web Development and Java skills and knowledge, which I can apply to many different clients and technologies within and around my work at Accenture. My spreadsheet skills have also increased significantly!
I enjoy it very much. The people Accenture has employed are some of the best in the field and also of diverse backgrounds. There's always a new role to leap into and you can reach out to so many extra-curricular work events and opportunities within the company.
I feel valued to be a part of their team and to represent them on Client sites and with my work. I do however wish they would increase the visibility of the Apprentice programme within the company to bring in more projects and chances of gaining more skills/certifications as a whole.
It really varies with your Client or Project, but Accenture does make sure that Managers are expected to allow you to be on release for Apprentice training sessions and everything follows a systematic process.
My training provider and tutor are on hand to call or e-mail and receive a response straight away. I can gain information and help from them regarding my options or any difficulties that I may be having.
A lot. Accenture invests heavily in it's people, so there are a lot of support networks from the Apprentice co-ordinator to Senior Leadership of the company who can help. The training provider also has a youth liaison team who are also on hand to deal with any matters.
My Salary package is okay but definitely requires some budgeting. Commuting around London and buying a travelcard every week/month does add up and take away from an already-average wage, but there is an Apprentice Oyster card and Accenture will expense any business costs and accommodation costs if required.
Tons. There are many divisions within Accenture and different societies, from the Health or Sports to Travel and Film groups you can join in on. The company also hosts events and parties every quarter to celebrate success and these are always busy!
Yes
It's a great company with so much to offer people who are prepared to give, learn and progress. There are mentors and other colleagues who can network with you and take you a long way through your career.
I would advise being very mature and serious about your attitude to work. Besides representing Accenture, you also represent a Client if you work with one, and along with all of the work, you are expected to maintain the Apprentice portfolio outside of work, which works heavily on your timekeeping ability. Apply as soon as possible as there is a huge turnout for such an amazing opportunity, and take your time!
