My role is to keep the warehouse tidy and making sure that the stock levels are right. Also when the stock comes in to make sure it is put on the self ready to pick. I have had projects such as - we were getting loads of damages on worktops and so I had the task of turn them facing it the right way.
I have learnt customer service and also working with a team. I learnt how to handle stock in the right way and also been shown how to left granite the correct way.
I find the apprenticeship really good I really enjoy working with my team and enjoy learning more about Howdens each day. I feel now i know how Howdens runs and the way it works.
I feel like they have made me feel like part of the team since day one, even say the other warehouse guy is off. Everyone is always willing to give me a hand if needed. For me this has made the experience much easier and enjoyable.
I think it is well organised, when [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] says she is coming in she always there that day and time. the support i get is fab and couldn't get anymore. when i get set homework if i'm stuck i know i could easily message [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] for any help.
I feel like [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is always there if I needed any help with anything. when she comes into the branch we always do what is needed to be done and if im stuck always there to help.
The manager is always giving me good advice and support that helps me improve all the time, same really applies with all the team always there to help and support if I need it. As I said everyone is supportive of me and if i need anything i have no problem going to any of them.
Im not going to lie it is hard with the wage im on. As im looking to move away from home the wage im on isn't enough for rent at the moment. My travel cost isn't that bad i guess as my dad works as a taxi driver i pay him £25 a month so isn't that bad. another thing is i have to buy dog food that costs £40 and then there is food for my self.
There are forums that the company hold and everyone to can go to. There are also stuff like they do bowling for people to do to with different howdens.
Yes
I just feel like its a good company to work for and if you have ambition I feel Howdens is very good at giving you different opportunities.
When you go the interview dress smart and make sure you look eager and interested in what job your going to be doing. I would of liked to been showed how to use K8. I would make sure you do it your own way and find out what way works better for you not the person who is showing you. I feel i possibly would of benefited from using the system.
