CSR assistant - raise PO numbers, deal with invoices, plan CSR events for macmillan and children in need, first point of contact for the team, write up newletters and comms for stores and head office, deal with external enquiries of donations, organise meetings, create spreadhseets for the team, plan community days for own team and all of head office, monitor sales figures, projects which include fundraising, community plans, macmillan initiatives.
I have learnt excel skills, word skills and networking skills. I have been on many courses for finance, learning new systems within boots and development workshops.
Team are fantastic and encouraging, manager is great and helps my development and career to success, the company culture is safe and encourages development and career progression. The programme has met my expectations and more than I imagined. I enjoy the NVQ work and my career within boots and plan to stay here in the future.
My manager praises me when I have done well and when I have been recognised, there are awards that we are applying to within our team - Team of the year nominations and I feel very valued by my team and have responsability. I am always encouraged to take on projects each month.
The induction was very thorough and helped us understand boots as a whole, the training has been consistent and interactive. The support is great from my tutor and the course leader, the studying is structured well and I am looking into getting a mentor this month. The team is well structured and everyone whos what is expected of them and who to go to in certain situations. This programme is very well organised indeed.
My tutor gives up so much of her time for us and is absolutely amazing at her job - she is encouraging, supportive, helps us access thigns that we dont understand, she gives us guidance is all aspects of our learning and I do enjoy it. My tutor from babington is the best tutor I could ask for, Every company should have someone like her!
My employer is supportive of development days and the HR team are great .The only thing that is not great is the illness policy where there is a discipline after so many illnesses and this is rather unfair when there is nothing you can do to avoid the situation. There are also chances for feedback which is great.
Our salary is very good for an apprenticeship and just covers my travel costs and living costs as I live away from home. I live in a lovely area near work which is easy to access. If the salary was raised slightly that would be better as it can be hard with your own car and house.
There are many opportunities outside of work and Boots do an incredible job of this. There are supplier meetings outside of the office, pamper evenings, christmas meals, development days, charity fundraising days, opportunities for e.g oxford summer school, confire nights, classes for extra learning. The only thing thats isnt great is that there is no sports teams and no bugdet to set this up. Our community spirit is incredible and this is down to the CSR team - they have done an amazing job.

All of the above - It is a fantastic opportunity with the option to progress within boots. The benefits are great and the whole experience is great for experience within a large business and also the skills that come with it.
Be yourself, be honest, prepare yourself, get to know the history, dont be shy but dont be overpowering, listen to others, be creative! Make sure you free up your time for the interview prossess and induction and presentation days so you get to know the different areas. Get involved in hobbies and share these in the application process - within reason! I wish i was told all of this!
